About

The Climate Governance Integrity blog is an initiative by Transparency Maldives. This weblog is managed by the Climate Finance Integrity Programme (CFIP) Team at Transparency Maldives.

The Climate Finance Integrity Programme is a major project that Transparency Maldives, along with the national chapters of Transparency International in Kenya, Mexico, Peru, Dominican Republic and Bangladesh, is undertaking.

Climate change being one of the biggest issues faced by the world, there is a huge amount of money being invested in adaptation and mitigation projects. We fear that with the fast pace and the great amounts of money being pledged to the Climate cause, there could be an increased susceptibility for corruption risks. Thus the overall aim of this project is to promote transparency, accountability, and integrity in the governance of climate finance policy globally and nationally and in doing so to contribute to more effective, efficient and equitable climate finance which meets adaption and mitigation objectives, greater climate policy legitimacy, and better achievement of related poverty reduction and development goals.
